- Following on from Marine Notice 14. The Australian Maritime Safety Authority [AMSA] and Maritime New Zealand [MNZ] have both agreed to recognize Maritime Safety Authority of Fiji [MSAF] approved STCW short courses for revalidation of Certificates of Competencies. MSAF in return will do the same.
- This will be formalised in new Memorandums of Understanding [MOU] and allow our higher certified seafarers the ability to revalidate locally due to travel restrictions. The courses are available for other international candidates who are in the pacific region.
- MSAF will continue to seek out other flag state administrations for dual recognition of COC’s and medical certificates.
- MSAF appreciates the prompt response from AMSA & MNZ to assist seafarer’s during these times.
