- This Marine Notice serves to inform all the relevant stakeholders that the Maritime Safety Authority of Fiji (MSAF), in line with MN 06/2025, has already started with the audits and inspections of ships and its companies to verify compliance to the Maritime (Safe Ship Management Systems) Regulation 2014.
- The audit and inspection will be carried out on all ships and its companies and will continue for approximately six months or until all eligible ships and shipping companies are audited, whichever comes first.
- The relevant ships and their companies are hereby put on notice that they are to submit their Company SSMS Manuals and SOP’s no later than 31st March 2026. Furthermore, you are reminded to take notice of Section 40 of the Maritime Transport Act 2013 and Regulation 18 of the Maritime (Safe Ship Management Systems) Regulations 2014.
- MSAF wishes to issue full SSMS certifications to ships and relevant companies soon and your cooperation is very much appreciated.
